Taco and Margarita Day

Chingford Station Community Hub

Saturday 21st September 12.00pm – 6.00pm

We will be selling Authentic Mexican Tacos to raise funds for refugees!  We will also have a bar with amazing margaritas and other drinks, music and some dancing!

All food will be freshly cooked and donated by Silvia Garrido Kemp. Silvia is originally from Mexico and absolutely loves cooking!

Silvia is an unaffiliated volunteer who has been supporting refugees in Newham and Waltham Forest for the last 3 years. At the beginning, she was part of a charity, but 2 years ago decided to continue supporting her network of asylum seekers/refugees on her own to ensure that 100% of the funds raised in events like this go to those in need instead of admin costs.

The funds are being collected for specific causes, such as helping with the cost of living, rent arrears to avoid homelessness, transport costs, and also to help with deposits to give them the chance to move onto private room renting and avoid homelessness now that they have been granted leave to remain and are kicked out of Home Office supported accommodation.

Please join us on the day and help us help others!  In exchange for your support, you will enjoy an amazing Mexican lunch, margaritas, beers, tea, coffee, and the chance to meet and talk to a few of the refugees we support.
